A-cube Studio’s Success Revealed: A 3D Printing Seminar

The School of Information Technology students led an engaging webinar on A-cube Studio’s journey in 3D printing, hosted by the University of Baguio – School of Information Technology on November 18, 2023. Under the guidance of instructor Ms. Lorie Narag, the team consisted of Laverne Thea Ferrer, Cristian Dale Astudillo, Christian Cera, Jasper Perdigon, and Wayne Marc Wansi.

An interactive icebreaker set the tone for a lively start to the event, with participants eagerly responding to trivia questions. Small prizes were awarded to those who were quick on the draw, which added to the excitement of participation and promoted connection among the audience.

During the seminar, prominent industry expert Angelo Calope spoke, delivering insight into the development of A-cube Studio. The main themes included a wide range of perspectives, such as the evolution from a pastime to a business, the websites and software used, the studio’s founding, the first difficulties encountered, team-building techniques, the justification for 3D printing, and the continuous discussion between computer-aided and hands-on methods.

Many students attended the seminar; 77 people from the first to fourth year responded. Most participants were fourth-year BSIT students, highlighting the topic’s significance to their academic path.

In the post-event assessment, feedback was provided by 59 respondents. The working committees and organizers received an excellent 72.9% for performance and coordination. The team’s dedication to flawless execution was demonstrated by the program’s timely and efficient information distribution, which earned the same score.
